The first impression is the last impression … the first impression has a big impact on how others perceive you. So how introducing yourself to others is extremely important. Many people call an introductory speech an elevator speech because it should be sufficient enough that you could introduce yourself and tell about your goal and interests.
Chances are that even if your voice becomes shaky, others won’t notice that. You want everyone to be able to hear you, so when you introduce yourself, do so in a clear, loud voice. Don’t mumble or stare down at the ground. It’s perfectly okay to be nervous – lots of people while speaking in front of others get nervous but if you can take a studying breath and project confidence you can be through your introduction before you know it.
